What I Wore Wednesday - Pop of Color

I love color. So it works out well that vibrant hues are in right now. It has been really fun experimenting with pairing different colors together, and I've definitely pushed even my own limits. Saturday night was unseasonably warm in D.C. and we went to dinner with some friends, so I broke out my wool cropped pants. I also wore two new Land's End Canvas purchases from the incredible sales they've been having. My new rule of thumb when it comes to color is try it out, you never know what might go together! In this outfit I've got on pink, two shades of blue, and salmon!

Reader Request - Black Tie Wedding

A C & C reader recently asked for suggestions for a black tie wedding in Washington, D.C. at the Willard Hotel - ooh la la! I wish I were going, there's nothing more fun than getting all dressed up. The wedding is for one her best friends from growing up, and her friend LOVES glitter! The cake toppers are even crystal! She's marrying a good southern boy, so this fete promises to be a good one and this reader needs to look dynamite.

Rent the Runway to the rescue yet again! Because the reader is petite, 5'1, I made sure to read the reviews of the dresses and look at any photos of previous renters before making my suggestions--one of my favorite features of the site. I was going to do a winners and losers post on the SAG Awards, but decided instead, because I can, I'd do a little E Fashion police of my own, ala Joan Rivers...minus the plastic surgery.

Remember Meryl Streep at the Golden Globes. Good god. Let's try not to remember that ever again. WWAWS (What would Anna Wintour say?!)

It appears this time she got it better. You know i love myself anything belted...even if she could wear it at a ranch. The blue is good for her. Her eyes pop. It's age appropriate. You didn't crush it, Meryl, but you get a pass.

I don't know what it is about Michelle Williams that rubs me the wrong way. She always seems to add that one extra item to her outfit that makes it "off." At the Golden Globes it was the headband, here, it's the satin shoes that look like dyeables.

Rose Byrne took the fashion risk of the night in an Elie Saab jumpsuit from the 2009 couture collection. This could have gone really wrong, but her hair, makeup, jewelry, bag, everything are pretty flawless. If she tried to pull this off for the Oscars, not so much, but this was a big win in my book (what does that expression mean, anyway? I've never written a book. Maybe I'll start saying "a big win in my blog," since I actually write one of those).

She looks pretty. I liked her earrings, but the dress was just okay for me. She could have worn it anywhere...okay, well maybe not to the gym. But she can have ANY dress...and she picks this one? P.S. Can someone please feed this woman?

Great news. Big. Huge. Karen Walker is collaborating with Anthropologie on a less-expensive line and it's going to be in stores in March--just in time for your Spring shopping! Walker hails from New Zealand and started selling her line to Barney's in 1998..and clearly the rest was history....Barney's doesn't mess around. What I love about her clothes is that they don't look like they're trying too hard. They're casual, yet chic, sophisticated, and well-tailored with a subtle feminine flare. Here's a peak of some of my favorite looks.

If you aren't familiar with Karen Walker, she also makes amazing eyewear. I wouldn't turn down some of her sunnies. Which pair is your favorite?

If I had my pick I would have bought the Kate Spade Karolina, which I already own in nude. But, at $298, they cost a bit more than I want to spend right now.

I like to maximize my wardrobe, which means wearing pieces for Spring and Summer in the cooler months. You just have to get a little creative with your layering. I got this shirt from Zara this Spring and wore it a ton. But it has been hibernating for a while. Time for a wake up call!

Hello, I've missed you! Paired with a J. Crew cardigan, an Ann Taylor skinny belt and infinity scarf (I can't get enough of it!), DVF purple flats, and my signature Angela Caputi bracelets in prugna and forest green (c/o Serena Italian Imports), it was a new dawn for my striped friend.

The cobalt blue and black combo this year is one of my favorites. And as you may or may not know, I LOVE wedges. In fact, I'm on a quest for the perfect pair for wedding 2012 (any suggestions would be welcomed). The Giuseppe Zanotti suede wedge pumps with ankle straps are kind of major. You aren't going unnoticed in this shoe. But even at 30% off, they ring in at $455.

A less expensive alternative is the Ann Taylor Lina Calf Hair Platform Wedges, which retail for $248. But this wouldn't be Splurge v. Save without a good deal! Coupled with a reduced price and what seems to be a regular 40% off code, these are now only $134.99. A true blue steal if you ask me!

What I Wore to Work Wednesday - Marc by Marc Jacobs

When that Gilt Groupe email pops into my inbox mid-morning as I'm working away, I always do a quick scan for my favorite designers to be prepared for the 12:00 electronic elbow throwing. Just before Christmas I scored this A-MAZING Marc by Marc Jacobs skirt and top from 2010 Fall Ready-To-Wear. I love polka dots and have been obsessed with the collection since it came out.

Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite designers. I got this amazing dress at the Bloomingdale's outlet almost two years ago. You may remember seeing it on Blair on Gossip Girl! I kind of died when I found JUST ONE in my size in the store!

I found the perfect Valentine's Day gift for the man in your life. Dr. B and I were shopping this weekend in Nordstrom (I found some amazing Jimmy Choos for the wedding!), when we came across these amazing little POCs (pops of color)! They were too great not to share. 1901 Oxfords are the perfect way to spruce up any man's wardrobe.

It all started with the Tibi Horatio Stripe Dress. You see I'm a sucker for anything striped..or navy...navy and striped really. So you can imagine how much I love this dress. But at $385, I thought I could turn this into a Splurge V. Save and find you a less expensive option. What I found was that there are so many cute navy and white striped dresses for your pleasure, in a range of prices.

This Gianni Bini Roxanne Striped Dress from Dillard's is a reasonable alternative for $128.

Or you can look ship-shape at work for the bargain price of $49 in this figure-flattering wrap dress from Piperlime!

Regan sent me this as a possible rehearsal dress option, also from Piperlime. It's $216 and so cute! With a cardigan and a belt or a blazer, no one would ever know it's strapless (Yes, you'll be seeing navy, white, and some stripes in our wedding in August. Stay tuned!).

Finally, for those of you with great gams, American Apparel added pockets to this short little number (which I'd have to wear as a tunic!). For $41, it's a steal as a dress or a shirt!

What I Wore to Work Wednesday - Chambray Chic

Mixing casual pieces into your wardrobe is possible, it's all about how you do it. I'm a huge fan of chambray, but at the end of the day, it's denim. If you work in a conservative work environment like I do, denim is only reserved for those very rare occasions where you donate money for Lee National Denim Day.

Barre3 DC

Sound the horns! Alert your Facebook friends! Get thee to the Twitters! Barre3 Georgetown is open! If you follow C & C, you know that Regan is a Barre3 instructor in Portland, where all the magic started! And you probably know that she stayed in rock-star shape during her pregnancy in large part to this amazing workout. Founder Sadie Lincoln created a combination of ballet barre work, yoga, and pilates, designed to shape and lift the entire body, that has even kicked Madonna's tush into shape!

So you can only imagine how excited I was when I learned that a studio was opening here in D.C.! And let me tell you, it's gorgeous! Centrally located on the Georgetown Waterfront on K Street (on the corner of K and Wisconsin next to Chadwick's), the historic building is the perfect place to get your sweat on! The studio opened on Wednesday and I've already been to 3 classes. Today is the last day of free classes, but you can check out class options on their website. I'd recommend getting the introductory special of 3 classes for $45. It's a great way to get a feel for the workout...and trust me, you'll feel it.

Since all of our readers aren't in Portland and D.C., check out studio locations around the country. And get to the barre! We all know that fit is fashionable!

White Wedding Shower

I have a wedding shower coming up at home in February, and while I probably won't be wearing white (in the middle of February in Idaho, the only thing that will be white will be the snow on the ground), I thought it would be fun to see what's out there in the way of white dresses. When else can you wear white other than your wedding year?!

This Jessica Simpson Faux Two-Piece Herringbone dress is incredibly well priced at $118.00 and could definitely be worn again, possibly even to work with a cardigan.

Kate Spade is a go-to for any big event, and the Wedding Belles Aubrey Wrap Dress definitely says bride-to-be.

Rarely is there a Milly dress I don't like, and the Lady Puff Dress Continuous (who comes up with these names?) is no exception. I'm not sure it would be appropriate for me to wear my sunnies during the shower, but if the dress calls for it...I'd be equal to the task. To make up for the $365 price tag, this dress could definitely be worn again well after the honeymoon.

Despite it's lack of sleeves, the Lauren by Ralph Lauren Noryne Sleeveless Turtleneck Knit Sweater Dress is probably the most appropriate for a ski town wedding shower. And it's on sale for $164.99. I could definitely add this to my wardrobe and layer it with other pieces for long-term use.

Rounding out my picks, my beloved Tibi. They just do it right. A simple silhouette with a statement necklace. What isn't there to love about the Moonstone Beading Shift Dress? Oh yes...the $550 price tag...I'm not crushing on that.

Happy What I Wore to Work Wednesday! I thought this year, instead of just posting on the Facebook Page, I'd try to post on the blog and give you options of where you can find the pieces, or at least similar options, online. Collared Classic

As we start the new year, I thought it would be good to revisit a classic. Old can always be new if you see it with fresh eyes. That's kind of how I feel about button down shirts lately. I've been wearing them A LOT...at work, at play...my PJ top even looks like one! For a while I thought they were BOR-ING. But worn as a layering piece or paired with the right bottom, this timeless classic is making a comeback in my closet in 2012!

I own these two from Lands End Canvas, and you can still get them on super sale. Check it out and let me know if you want advice on sizing! I love their stuff.

The Silk Gatehouse Shirt from Madewell also comes in black and white. Since it's silk, this is the perfect piece for the office or weekends and is a great transition piece between seasons.

If you haven't checked out C. Wonder online or been lucky enough to visit one of the few stores, here's your introduction. They don't carry everything online that they do in the stores, but their things are very reasonably priced and super cute and preppy. Who doesn't need a little gingham and ruffles in their lives?

For the girly girl in us all, the Kate Spade Tiff Top is ultimate prep. Who needs a popped collar when you've got this shirt!

This Red-Striped Dolman-Sleeve Shirt from Old Navy may just have to be my first purchase for spring. The possibilities with this little beauty are endless. I'm going to dream about it tonight. Which means I'll probably have to buy it tomorrow. I can't resist stripes. Big decision, red and white or navy and white?

And last, but certainly not least, florals are the perfect way to make what is traditionally masculine, totally feminine. This Cacharel Shirt in Floral Print from Asos is perfectly paired with a bold-hued skirt, but would be equally stunning with a pair of skinny jeans.

Oh Mexico

I hope you all had wonderful week with your friends and family! Regan and I spent a restful week in Baja, where we've spent Christmas the last 24 years. Despite very windy weather, we had a great time. As I try to get back in the groove of things and prepare for the start of the work week tomorrow, here's a recap of our vacation (Regan and the mini Fashionista are en route today after being stuck in the airport yesterday for 8 hours, to only have their flight canceled...sorry guys! She did see Andrew Firestone, his wife, and 2 daughters, for all you Bachelor fans!).

Our vaca included Mexican rattles (aka maracas), Christmas regalos (thanks for my new Converse watch Regs!), fierce games of Mexican train (if you don't have it, get it!), lots of play time with the mini, and finally on our very last day, fun in the sun enjoying our new paddle boards!

What I Wore to Work Recap

If you follow C & C on Facebook, or were reading the blog back in September, you know that earlier this year I decided to post regularly some of my work outfits. We all know dressing for work can be a challenge. I work in a conservative environment, but like to follow trends. That means I have to find ways to incorporate what's trendy into classic and sophisticated looks. Some days it works, and others it doesn't. We're all human. I've got to take my own pictures in a mirror (not so legit), but I hope it gives you some inspiration for your own work attire. Bringing to the Beach- The Mini Fashionista

To sum up this week's posts on beach attire, I thought I would share with you what the Mini Fashionista will be wearing on the beaches of Mexico.

Every athlete needs a functionl suit for watersports. This one from Boden will be perfect for kayaking, building sand castles and riding on Papa D's boat. It's a little modest, but keeping your skin looking young is so important. Don't worry...she has a wide brim hat too!

Her second ensemble is a bit more chic but also provides good coverage. I especially like how the blue matches her eyes, and who doesn't love a one shoulder top with a ruffle. Ba-na-nas!

And last, but not least, every fashionista needs a smoking hot bikini...and animal prints are so on trend!

Hi everyone! I'm absolutely honored to be guest posting today on Katie and Regan's blog. I am a huge fan of Cardigans & Couture and of the two incredibly stylish twins who are the geniuses behind the blog.

When Katie asked me if I would write a guest post on the ten things I would bring to a warm climate, I jumped at the opportunity! It just so happens that I'm also currently enjoying some R & R not too far from where Regan and Katie are. This post helped me to get packing...well, at least virtually packing.

#1 First of all, you can't spend a second out in the bright sun without sunnies, so why not make them stylish sunglasses?!

I'm a go big or go home type sunglasses gal; the large Kate Spade Rae's fit the bill.

#2 Even though I'm all about getting a tan, I don't really like the thought of wrinkles. The second thing I would pack for warm weather is a large hat.

#3 Well now that I've got my hat and sunnies, I obviously need a bathing suit for the beach. This is the part I hate, finding a flattering suit.

I used to spend a pretty penny on a suit but lately I've been more into Target. I've found their suits to be really flattering and fun in style and colors. A classic navy/white stripe top with pink happens to be my very favorite combo - just check out the header of my website to see. :)

#4 Now that I'm all suited up, it's time for some cover up action.

The J. Crew Sundowner tunic in engineered stripe is preppy perfection. Plus, you could easily dress it up for a stroll around town.

#5 Speaking of strolling, I think I'll need some shoes on my feet from time to time.

Without a doubt, I would go for the Jackie Tuccia Capri Sandals in the red lizard. We are dreaming right? At $168, I don't actually own these shoes, but in my dreams, I wear them every day. They simply go with everything. Plus, Capri is one of my favorite places on earth.

#6 I seem to be pretty much covered for the beach but I'll need a little something for my shopping excursions in town.

I love the colors and pattern of this Mara Hoffman maxi dress; if I ever grew tired of wearing it, I'd turn it into pillows. It's something that could easily be worn out at night as well.

#7 Speaking of the night, I couldn't possibly go without a cardigan.

I know it's a heavy cardigan, but I can get very cold at night. I love the neutral color that will go with anything and the tuxedo collar.

#8 I'm going to need some sort of jewelry for my outfits. I would def. bring this Michael Kors watch, especially since my husband just bought me this for Christmas!!

The Michael Kors watch is more then just a useful item to check if it's close to cocktail time; it's also a great jewelry statement piece.

#9 Because I'm on vacation and feeling in an experimental mood, I'd push my fashion limits and wear these sequin shorts for a festive night out.

I'd completely tame it down with my simple J. Crew tunic and sandals. But why not do something a little different?

#10 Finally, I get very stir crazy so I can't really be on a beach vacation without some reading material. I never leave home without some sort of shelter magazine. I would have a whole pile of back issues of House and Home...

It's a Canadian magazine that I only began subscribing to this year and it's amazing! On this dream vacation, I would have all of the issues I've ever missed of House and Home.

Ahhhh....now computer please whisk me away to a sunny place with all of these wonderful goodies!

Bringing to the Beach

As you read this, I am enjoying some sun and relaxation in Mexico. We have been spending Christmas there for the last 22 years, so it's the norm for us to have a white "sand" Christmas. Our destination, Punta Pescadero, is totally off the beaten path. That means I will be bringing my comfortable and casual beach clothes. It's the ultimate relaxing vacation. So, here is a list of my must haves for my beach vacation! And stay tuned later this week for more beach picks from a few other bloggers!

To keep your face protected from the sun a good wide brim straw hat is a necessity!

I usually read at least 3 books over the holiday. This is my current book club pick that I will be reading, Just Kids by Patti Smith.

You can't have a beach vacation without a good pair of sunglasses. I actually just got this new pair of Kate Spade cat eye prescription sunglasses, but unfortunately they won't be ready until after I return! Big Bummer!

Clearly I will be bringing multiple bathing suits (the one below included which I got 1+ years ago from VS). I like to have at least one bandeau top so I can minimize tan lines, but we'll see how much sun bathing I get with an 8 month old baby!

A big tote is essential for any vacation, especially with a baby. I received this fabulous tote (in green and navy) from my friend SC. It's from C Wonder and it's fabulous!

And last but not least, I couldn't go to Mexico without taking a little barre3 along with me. I will be packing my ball, and Katie and I will be holding our own barre3 classes beach side. I'll have to do something to work off the guacamole and margaritas!

Last Friday Regan gave us her Christmas wish list. This week, it's my turn. ~~Dr. B~~ Friends and family take note. Despite this being my wish list, hopefully it will inspire any last minute shopping you need to do. 8 shopping days left until Christmas Eve! To honor those days, here are 8 things (in no particular order), I lust for...I had to stop somewhere or this post could be pretty long. So let's get to it.

Wool capes are the thing of the season, and I've been looking for one that is different and makes a bit of a statement. This Pendleton Striped Blanket Cape does just that...and I'm a sucker for stripes...and it's on sale for $98.00!

I've always loved pointy flats, and the J-Crew Viv Flats in topiary are beyond. Enough said. (Size 10, thanks.)

My black wool coat was retired last year and needs to be replaced. I wouldn't protest this Burberry Funnel Neck wool coat as a replacement. Dr. B has a thing for Emma Watson and she's a Burberry spokesmodel...so this makes total sense in my mind.

Because you can never have too many pairs of sunnies, these Chelsea House of Harlows would be right at home on my face - in nude or black...I'm not picky.

Earlier this year I met the girls from DANNIJO, and not only are they impressive, but their jewelry is AMAZEBALLS! And this Wiig cuff...come on, the bows...do I even need to explain to you why Santa needs to bring this to me (My Elf on the Shelf knows I've been good)?!

Stripes and dots. I love them. Commando Polka Dot tights are kind of like a party on your legs. Who wouldn't want that?

I love my arm party, and I'm always looking to add to it. This Giles and Brother Archer Bangle is simple and timeless.

And last, but not least, coming in at number 8, the Patagonia Women's Down Sweater Vest. I'm an Idaho girl at heart, and just like all clothes, you can never have too many down coats or vests!

Last week I stopped by my favorite Portland consignment store, Seams To Fit , to see if I had sold any items and to check out the latest inventory. As I approached the rack of coats an olive jacket caught my eye...could it be a Barbour? I pulled it off the rack and sure enough, it was! A BRAND NEW (with tags) Barbour Beaufront Jacket and the Betty Interactive Liner (also in Olive)!

My husband had a Barbour jacket growing up, and I bought him one a number of years ago for his birthday. Since then I have been lusting after my own but have never pulled the trigger...until now. This jacket retails for over $400 (and the vest for $100), and I got both for $199! It was too good to pass up.

For those of you who are not familiar with Barbour, it is an iconic British Lifestyle Brand founded in 1894. Think Fox hunting and country chic. It's been a brand of the British Royalty for years and was worn by the late Princess Diana.

And now it's gone mainstream and is seen on some of the chicest celebrities like Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo.

Virginia is for Lovers

Last weekend, we ventured 2 1/2 hours south to Keswick Hall for our friends' wedding. It was the perfect weekend to cozy up and enjoy the crisp December weather. It was so nice to have a quick weekend away before all the holiday craziness sets in.

Keswick was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and coupled with the fact that I'm now pretty much listening to Christmas Carols non-stop, I'm finally feeling like Santa is on his way (Dr. B....remember that Pendleton Cape I was telling you about...now would be the time to read the blog. P.S. Check back on Friday for my "wish list").

The wedding was so much fun, from the rehearsal dinner Friday night at the Hunt Club (where I ate my weight in ribs), to the dinner and dancing on Saturday, the beautiful bride planned a flawless fete--of course I expected nothing less. I was especially excited because I finally got to break out my Hunter Dixon Ossie dress (and always fun to see Dr. B in a tux). But it was nothing compared to the STUNNING bride in Vera Wang. LOVE! And if you could only see her Louboutins.

And I'd be lying if I told you I didn't make several stops at the dessert table which had an incredible assortment of treats, including personalized truffles and french macaroons.

If I were to do similar posts, I would probably have to call the posts "what I wore to workout" since my only official job (at the moment) is teaching at Barre3. Weekend Recap - The Big City

Coming to you this lovely Tuesday from the East Coast. I thought I'd share some pictures from our Thanksgiving weekend. We spent it up North where Dr. B is from, the great State of New York! With weather in the 60s, it couldn't have been more beautiful. On Saturday, we took a quick train ride from Westchester into the city.

We arrived at Grand Central station (I could have sworn I saw Gossip Girl), then headed straight for Central Park.

Thankfully New York has no shortage of places to eat or shop. Between street vendors, delis, and fine dining, the Big Apple is your oyster (that doesn't sound quite right..an apple an oyster?) Apparently, Laduree is the hot ticket these days, as the line was around the corner. As much as I love their delectable macaroons, there was no way I was going to convince Dr. B to stand in that line. I have a better chance of persuading him into a trip to Paris.

Sunday, we finished off the weekend at the Jets game, where we spend much of our fall. Thankfully being from Idaho I was a NFL free agent when it came to fandom...I got picked up by the Jets three years ago (I'm pretty sure that's why Dr. B agreed to date me in the first place). I REFUSE to wear your typical game gear...clearly. In the Fall I have a green and white Ralph Lauren blouse that I bought just for the games. This Sunday Dr. B said I had too many colors, I told him that clearly he needed a lesson in jewel tones.

Now it's back to work and to the gym to make up for the quadruple servings I ate at every meal for four days straight (completely worth it!) Regan and I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Remember these mittens from the last Olympics? I bet you don't know who they're made by. I didn't, and I even have a pair (which I love, even though I'm American...OBSESSED with all things Winter Olmpics...can't wait until 2014 in Russia).

They are made by Hudson's Bay Company, or "The Bay," North America's oldest commercial corporation and one of the oldest in the world. Who knew?! What started out as a fur trading company, incorporated by English Royal Charter in 1670, today owns and operates retail stores around Canada. Its parent company also owns Lord & Taylor here in the states. But enough of this history lesson, lets get down to the good stuff - namely a collection of stripes that I am OBSESSED with (you'll be seeing the appearance of some stripes at my wedding in August - stay tuned). Here are a few things from the HBC Collection that I wouldn't turn down...hint, hint Dr. B.

The other day, one of my colleagues had on this darling Split Diamonds Shift Dress from Anthropologie. She had it paired with a simple black cardigan and basic black pumps. Last night's event at D.C.'s first Ann Taylor concept store was a great way to kick off the week! The new stores, designed in partnership with S. Russell Groves architects, give you the experience of chic, luxury shopping, at one of your favorite retailers. The design has a residential feel, with homey touches like stunning crystal chandeliers, floor to ceiling mirrors, modern leather ottomans, and a clean white aesthetic. And did I mention their inventory is equally impressive? I'm not normally an Ann Taylor shopper, but let me tell you, that ~~changes now~~ changed last night. Here are a few highlights. I can't remember the last time I actually stepped foot in Old Navy. I prefer shopping online because the stores are poorly merchandised and messy. Anyway, I decided to check out the online shop over the weekend and was blown away at all the fashion forward items I found. Unfortunately, many of them had poor reviews when it came to the fit (i.e. the color block sweater...which I totally would have ordered).

Last week Katie shared all her favorite drug store picks. I too am pretty much a drugstore, or soap.com , kind of gal (as I blogged about). I'm not going to give you my whole list of faves, but I am going to share my latest find.

First the back story....as some of you may know, your hair is about as voluminous as it can get when you are pregnant. Basically for 9 months it's in the growing phase, so you hardly lose any hair. Then, about 2 months post baby, it all goes to hell, and in a bad way! My hair was as full and fabulous as it had ever been, and now it is crazy thin and looks terrible, especially when it's dirty.

Here's where the fabulous solution comes in: Big Sexy Hair! It's a powder you dust into your hair (when it's dirty to give it some volume, or in my case, prevent it from looking like total crap.

And for $10 it won't break the beauty budget!

CapFABB Style Challenge: Leather

As I've mentioned before, I'm part of a great network here in D.C., the Capital Area Fashion and Beauty Bloggers, also known as CapFABB. Last week I got word that they'd be starting a regular style challenge and it was kicking off this week with leather! Despite being a crazy week both for my work and personal life, I was excited because it gave me an excuse to find ways to style the Tahari leather jacket I recently bought off Gilt Groupe. If you asked my friends to describe me, they wouldn't use any of the words typically associated with leather -- tough, edgy, rebellious...you get the picture. But leather jackets are all the rage right now, and I really wanted one. My new Tahari is perfect because it has all of those characteristics, with a feminine, girly twist. Now how to wear it? I was up to the challenge.

Just like nearly every woman I know, I love handbags (almost as much as shoes), but since the arrival of the Mini Fashionista I've been toting around my MZ Wallace Kate that on most days resembles Mary Poppins's carpet bag. You want a squeaky giraffe? I got it! A change of clothes, perhaps? Done! You get my point...

That doesn't stop me from lusting after the Chanel 2.55, a Balenciaga or a Chloe bag. Now I can add a new brand to the list, Donatienne of Los Angeles. Creator Nikki Erwin has had a long love affair with handbags, constantly on the hunt for the perfect bag that can be worn day and night, a mix of functionality combined with stunning aesthetic. No longer having to search, Nikki created what she has always looked for, Donatienne. The result, a line of vibrantly colored, fun and functional handbags, designed, assembled and manufactured in the town where it was born: Los Angeles, California.
